EDRC
The Exeter and District Riding Club (EDRC) is affiliated to the British Horse Society (BHS), and a member of British Riding Clubs- the 'Riding Club Movement' having 83,000 members, countrywide. We are part of Area 12 ( South West )
Our membership is drawn from right across Devon, and we take junior members from the age of 12 - so come on parents, get in touch.
During the year, our club puts on a number of events - shows, hunter trials and horse trials, at various venues, such as Poltimore Park.
We endeavour to make our events an enjoyable and safe day out by providing catering, toilet, safety radio and Ambulance facilities on the field - and at most events, there is an equine photographer present to capture those fine, and not so fine moments!
We also actively encourage our members to participate in team events in all disciplines, mostly hosted by the other Area 12 clubs, with the aim of qualifying for Riding Club Championships, or simply having fun.
Our year culminates with the Annual General Meeting, usually held in November, where the presentations of various annual cups and awards, are made.
All this, along with our training sessions, talks and social events, help us to maintain a busy and active club, for riding and non-riding members alike. That's right, non-riding members - there's always plenty of opportunity to be actively involved, to help all of our events run smoothly on the day.
